Wedding Anniversary #3

Today is our 3rd year wedding anniversary. For about a week now I've been reminiscing all that led up to our marriage and our 3 years of successful marriage. We first started dating in November of 2002. I was 18 and still in high school. By about January I knew I wanted to marry this man. When I started college in August, we took a 5 month hiatus and were back together again in December 2003. Dustin proposed to me in November 2004 and we were married 6 months later.

As I look back over how much we've grown, I see little miracles and other instances that could not have been human. Being a wife is more than just a companion. She is a best friend, a counselor, a teacher, a house keeper, a soother of wounds (emotional and physical), and yet I don't feel like I could be all those things without God. Dustin fills in every missing aspect. That sounds cliche; however, he cooks, cleans, takes care of the yard, takes care of me, and most of all puts up with everything I have to offer.

I can't imagine my life partner as anyone else. When a person gets married to another, those two people truly do grow into one. I look back at some of Dustin's close friends and/or family that have divorced for one reason or another. I don't understand how they can do that because we are to be one person. If one of us is slacking in the marriage, it should be openly discussed.

Anyway this is my devotion to our marriage. Though my words cannot express all that I feel, my actions and my future family will speak for me.

Thank you, Lord for the man you've made to be my husband. He shows me what love is. Our marriage is a testimony of what love is to be. I thank you for Your love and blessings. Please allow us to make it to an infinite amount of years together in Your name. Amen.
