Canada Trip
Every spring break or during one of my intercessions from teaching, Dustin and I always go on some sort of vacation, even if it is only one day somewhere. This time we decided to go to Canada because I have never been out of the country. Dustin's been everywhere it seems, but not to Canada either. My brother Eric and his girlfriend Dora haven't been out of the country either, so they went along for the ride. The only stipulation was that we stop at Cabela's in Dundee, Michigan. We had a blast!!!
Dustin in the Cabela's aquarium checking out all the fish around the Midwest.
Dora in the Bargain Cave holding this huge fishing lure. It really was insanely large!
..."because they're shuttin' Detroit down..." Here is part of the Ford stamping plant outside of Detroit.
Entering Canada at customs.
The huge suspension bridge connecting Windsor to Detroit.
Eric and Dora in our hotel room waiting to figure out what we are going to do that night.
Eric had some nasty gas while we were playing euchre. He cleared us off of the bed.
Eric and Dora at Cramden's. It was a quaint little bar for Dora's first legal drink.
Dustin and I in our hotel room trying to get a pic of Detroit's sky line in the background... guess we were too brilliant to allow this to happen.
I took a pic of Eric. Thought it was a good one.

We all decided to go see the shores of Lake Saint Claire. It was super windy and definitely very cold.
If Eric has his hood up, it must be cold!
After finding out what socialism is and what it looks like, we head back prepared for the Obamanation/socialism here. This is a pic in the tunnel under the Detroit River. Dustin neglected to let Dora and me know that when there are tunnels under rivers they tend to leak. That was a traumatic experience at first, but then we got annoyed at having to sit in this customs line for nearly an hour. Freedom never felt so good.
Let freedom ring! Or was that gun shots firing?? We were in Detroit after all.
