So far this summer has been busy and not refreshing... until now.
I had a wedding this past weekend for my friend Molly, whom I met while attending Butler. She is an amazing girl and I was so proud to be in her bridal party. I don't have any pics of this yet either to post, but I will! She was such a beautiful bride. The bachelorette party was surprisingly fun. We went to Jillian's and realized that the A/C was broken, so decided to walk down to Cladaugh's Irish Pub and have some wine and such. While walking there the manager of Have a Nice Day Cafe told us to come on in for no cover charge and a free fish bowl. I've never been to a dance club, so it was definitely an experience for me!
Monday, Dustin and I went to see You Don't Mess with the Zohan the new Adam Sandler movie--HILARIOUS! A must see!
Tuesday I met Mary at Stonybrook and cleaned up my classroom some. I definitely need to do more work and get more organized. I think I'm going to go back in next week to finish up and start making lesson plans for the start of the year. I don't even miss my kids yet!
While I was working at school, Dustin's unit went to Columbus, Indiana to help with disaster relief. Here I am just ignorant of the flood damage and he said the water was up to his belly button. I said oh yeah that sucks their basements are ruined. He said, "No, this is on the first floor of the houses." It is such a shame and they don't live in a flood plain so they weren't able to get flood insurance...
Today I'm not sure what I'm doing, but it is a beautiful day. I would like to go take a run and maybe go swimming. Who knows though. Dustin's got the day off today so we may go and get something done.
Next week I plan on gutting the spare bedroom and painting the walls. I would then like to paint our bedroom. Then I could make some curtains for the rooms and be finished. I'm in a nesting phase in my life where I want to change everything around. If anyone has any idea on how to reupholster furniture, let me know. I'd like to do so with my living room furniture.
